1. Wearable Technology
Wearable technology rated was rated in the top 3 for the past years. Fitness trackers is a fast growing market where we see from 2018 that the smartwatches are becoming fully fledge fitness trackers as well. 2. Group Training
In the surve of ACSM group training is described as any training with more than 5 participants. Over the past years group training has got from position 20 in 2017 to number 2. Keep in mind that online group training is a fast growing market.
3. HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)
Dropped from number 1 to number 3 this year but it is still gaining a lot of tracktion. Group training is describe by the ACSM as ‘short bursts of high-intensity bouts of exercise followed by a short period of rest.’ . With a growing number of online workouts and self training programs, body weight is the good solution for a fast and convinient work-out. Using no-equipment and only your body weight you can do your work out any time and everywhere. This is the reason that we are big fans of this type of training.
6. Employing Certified Fitness Professionals
The fitness market is growing year over year. In januari 2019 there are 201,000 health and fitness clubs world wide with 174,000,000 members. In the US the market grow with 3.6% and forecast are shoing it will keep growing at the same rate. So the with this mature market the demand for certifed fitness professionals is growing as well.
7. Yoga
It would been starnge when Yoga did not made this list. ACSM notes that in 2018 there are many forms of Yoga. Power Yoga, Yogilates, Yoga in hot environments (Bikram) and many more. 8. Personal training
SInce the beginning of the survey Personal training is in the top 10. ACSM defines it as ‘fitness testing and goal setting with a trainer working one-on-one with a client.’ With more and more online fitness programs and mobile fitness apps, personal trainers are more and more accesible.
9. Functional fitness training
